A Software Development company wanted a solution that would allow the back up all data using Microsoft, Data Protection Manager, a component of System Centre Essentials that allows for the replication of data to a separate storage device. After a couple of attempts to deploy MS DPM, it was decided that it would be better to focus efforts on revenue generating activity, software development, and to hand this task over to Trump Systems. It simply made no sense to learn a technical skill that would be used only once.

Trump was engaged to install and configure DPM and successfully completed the task as agreed. The next step was to do a careful analysis of the IT Infrastructure and develop an action plan that would optimize the efficiency of the IT function. The perfect tool for use in this situation is Trump's IT Diagnostic which is used to produce a condensed Strategic Plan for IT.

Our IT Diagnostic began with a meeting with management to clearly understand their objectives followed by a detailed analysis of the existing IT technical environment. Using this information, a report was produced and presented to management that included a summary of the information obtained along with our observations and recommendations.

Our recommendations included a prioritized list of action items with Rough Order of Magnitude costs for budget purposes. To date we have implemented several of the recommendations including.

The IT Audit provided the input for an action plan aimed at improvements to the existing infrastructure and many recommendations from the action plan have been implemented resulting in improved network performance, security, scalability, management and redundancy.
